Socioeconomic Profile

The Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), through its Study and Research Center in Administration (CEPA), conducted a recent study with the purpose to come up with the Socioeconomic Profile of the Tobacco Farmers in South Brazil. Commissioned by SindiTabaco, the survey was carried out from August 29 to September 16, 2016, in 15 of the 21 micro-regions where tobacco is produced in South Brazil. The survey comprises such major items as income, family estate, quality of life, family structure, profile of the farm, access to services, succession, motivation, diversification, and others.
