History that has been walking side by side with the farmers for many decades, the Integrated Tobacco Production System (ITPS) has turned into a highlight of the sector in Brazil.

Taken as one of the pillars of tobacco agribusiness, the ITPS excels in sustainability in its economic, social and environmental core lines, strengthening the entire supply chain, from farmer to final consumer.

Among the countless advantages derived from the Integrated System, the highlight is product traceability. The possibility to trace the product back to its origin represents, for the clients, a distinguishing trait that not only addresses quality requirements, but also serves as a pesticide controller and removal of foreign matter. One of the initiatives is known as Clean Tobacco, whose target consists in making the growers aware of the fact that the elimination of foreign matter and atypical odors ensure product quality, synonym for good business for all the people involved in the process.

FOLDER – The folder of the Clean Tobacco Program, handed out to all tobacco farmers in South Brazil, gives them information on how to avoid foreign matter, like pieces of plastic, paper, feathers, grass, etc. Furthermore, the material addresses all the precautions needed in all stages of the crop and sets forth the obligations of companies and farmers.

The Clean Tobacco Program complements the initiatives already enacted by the industries on an individual basis regarding their integrated farmers. Awareness campaigns and research on new technologies for the production of cleaner and integrity-oriented tobaccos are never-ending concerns that guide the companies of the sector, thus making sure the tobacco produced in Brazil really lives up to its reputation as the cleanest in the world, therefore ensuring its competitive edge in the international marketplace.
